A special Cougar banner was raised today to salute a Washington State University Tri-Cities employee for her outstanding accomplishments. Genoveva Morales-Ledesma, director of Early Outreach programs, is the “Banner Week” honoree for Jan. 23 to Jan. 30. Morales-Ledesma led the successful efforts resulting in two six-year grants form the U.S. Department of Education totaling $23 million. This was one of the largest, if not the largest, awards in the nation, and the grants will support the GEAR UP program that prepares middle school students and their families for college. [more]
