As a result of the financial crisis we are in WSU Tri Cities has decided to hold the commencement ceremony at the Toyota Center in Kennewick instead of on campus like they have done the past two years. Holding the ceremony at the Toyota Center will save WSU Tri Cities $20,000, the Toyota Center only charges $10,000 where as they would have to pay $30,000 to hold the ceremony on campus because they need to rent a stage, and enough chairs and bleachers to seat close to 3,000 people. WSU Tri Cities is anxious for the finances to steady so the ceremony can be held on campus again. WSU Tri Cities is expecting close to 300 students to graduate May 15.
